@bradenvance showed plenty of patience to take this awesome Red stag.
Having watched him for a bit earlier, all the time while in a perfect shooting position at around 100yrds, we were trying to establish if he was exactly what we were after. Once agreed he was a perfect candidate, peering through gaps in the thick cover we watched him move down towards his wallow, even closer at around 60yrds all while managing to avoid offering up a clear shot. Our hearts were in our mouths for what felt like an age as he soon fed slowly up the opposite face until making just one small step in the wrong/right direction presenting us with a narrow quartering shot between thick vegetation.
Photos and bush butchery were made a little harder working in somewhat of a swamp but how could we really complain with a result like this?
This hunt had it all…….
The drama,
The stalk,
The suspense,
A bit of hard work and all on a beautiful late summer’s day. What a result!

New Zealand…… “Land of the giants”
@blindjordan and wife Leah with the very elusive “management” white stag. This stag gave us the run-around for almost 5x days, having spotted it only a few times with the stag bolting without presenting an opportunity every glimpse we got. Who would have thought a “white” stag would be so bloody hard to spot.
At last we got our chance and Jordan wasn’t going to let it slip this time round so with only the head and neck clear for a shot he drilled him straight through the meat of the neck, breaking his spine and dropping him on the spot instantly.
Well done bud, hope the memories of this hunt helps you through your eye surgery and road to recovery. He’ll look amazing on the wall……. when you can see him. 😬🤣
